Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours?
Our current hours are posted on our website at the bottom of every page.

Where are you located?
Our new Community Media Center is located at 230 Main St., next door to Puff City. Free parking is available in back.

What is a Community Media Center?
Our new vision for ETV, this is a multi-use studio space for Members to learn, grow, create, collab, digitize, share, record, make and edit content, digitize old video footage, and more!

Who can become a member?
Anyone! While Members with East Haven residency receive priority for rentals/reservations, content creators across the region are welcome here. We welcome fellow nonprofits, college students, CT Filmmakers, and our pARTners in the Arts. Simply click over to our Membership page to sign up!

Can ETV digitize my old footage?
Yes! We now have a Digital Capture Cart, with several formats, including VHS, MiniDV, and DVD. You can also bring your old camera if you have RCA outputs (the red, white, and yellow cables). This service is free for current Members, and we will train you on how to capture footage! ETV is also available to digitize footage for you, for a fee.

Can ETV post our event information?
Guidelines for listing your event can be found on our Bulletin Board page. Please submit your materials a minimum of two weeks in advance. Listings for events that serve the greater community will be given priority. Advertising is not allowed on our bulletin boards.

Can you videotape our event?
This always depends on 1] availability and 2] the nature of the event. We don't air content that is promotional in nature (advertising). We prefer to give you the tools and training to cover your own event.

Can I hire ETV to produce my project / live stream / podcast?
ETV is available for live streaming and other paid video services. Please visit our Services page for more information. Any such project that is promotional in nature will not be eligible for time on our airwaves.

Do you rent space / equipment?
Yes. Space and equipment for Members are free to reserve. Use of tools & studio space is handled on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. We also offer a range of paid rental options for professionals, including studio lockouts, extended equipment rentals, and more. Organizations looking for a meeting space can also contact us for availability.

Do you offer training?
Yes. ETV offers both group and individual training for Members, covering topics such as video cameras, audio, multi camera shoots, podcasting, digital capture of old footage, video editing, and more.

Who determines what airs on ETV?
Programs airing on any of our three channels must adhere to ETV's terms of service and to ETV standards / policies. Producers of content must also adhere to our Professional Conduct Policy, and be in good standing. ETV reserves the right to remove any program, or to deny any program from airing, should the program fail to conform to these guidelines.

When will a program air on your channel(s)?
While we have a small staff, we make every effort to air programs as quickly as possible. Edit times vary greatly, as do the availability of slots for new programs to air. We post frequent updates on our current scheduling via our social media channels.
